The short version of how Confirmail works.
It asks the recipient's own mail server whether it accepts the address, and asks about a random address too, so a domain that accepts everything is reported as catch-all instead of valid. Servers that refuse to answer come back as unknown, and that credit is refunded.
Yes. POST /api/v1/verify with an API key returns the status, reason, score and suggestion as JSON. Test keys work offline with @sandbox.test addresses.
